FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What should my child wear/bring to camp?

A: Gym clothes, Gym shoes, typical basketball gear and water bottle. Water fountains are available, and water breaks are taken throughout the day

Q: How are the players grouped?

A; Boys and Girls are typically grouped together in one of three categories by age, grade and skill level

  • 5 and 6 year olds - NIT Division
  • 7,8 and 9 year olds - NCAA Division
  • 10-13 year olds - NBA Division

Q: How many girls attend a typical camp session?

A: Approximately 30% - Multiple Girls are placed on each team and station teaching groups. Many of our coaches and counselors are female

Q: When do I pay Summer Weeklong Day Camp Balance?

A: Balances for full and half day campers are paid on Monday at check in during your SUMMER/SPRING BREAK camp week. Please pay by check or cash at check in as outlined in your confirmation letter

Q: What should I do about lunch?

A: During SUMMER weeklong daycamps, lunch is available for purchase in our camp canteen. Pizza, Chips, Drinks, Etc. A canteen card may be purchased for $25 on Monday at camp registration. Most items are $1, Pizza is $2. The card helps young campers not to worry about money (or losing money). Their name will be placed on the card for easy recognition if misplaced. Rising Stars would prefer campers not to be carrying cash during the camp week.

During ALL OTHER EVENTS (WINTER/SPRING BREAK/ONE DAY CAMPS) campers must bring their own lunch

Q: When can I drop my children off and do you provide after care?

A: Children may be dropped off no earlier than 8:30am for all events. Because we do not provide after care, we ask for prompt pickup at 3:00pm during Winter sessions and Special Events, and 4:00pm for Summer weeklong daycamp sessions.

Q: What time does camp end on Friday during the Summer?

A: Camp ends at 12 noon for all Monday - Friday sessions. Any 4 day sesssions (Tuesday - Friday) camp ends at 4pm. Please be prompt in picking your child up

Q: What is Rising Stars refund policy?

A: Rising Stars Basketball Camps does not issue refunds for payment on Basketball Camps or Clinics. If you find that you cannot attend a camp or clinic that you have paid for - you must contact Rising Stars Basketball Camps by email prior to the first day of the camp or clinic you are scheduled to attend and you will be receive a credit that will be good for 1 year to use on another Rising Stars Basketball Camp or Clinic. The credit will be for the amount you paid minus a fifty dollar administrative fee. If you do not contact us by email prior to the first day of the camp or clinic, you will not receive a credit for a future camp or clinic.
